The Homestead at Candlelight Forest: A Dreamy Wedding Venue Just Outside Chattanooga
If you’re dreaming of a Southern wedding surrounded by nature—but still close to the city—The Homestead at Candlelight Forest is a perfect choice. Nestled in the peaceful hills of the Chattanooga Valley, this charming estate offers historic buildings, stunning lakeside views, and natural beauty that makes every wedding feel truly special.
Historic Charm Meets Natural Beauty
At the heart of The Homestead is Peacock Hall, an Italianate farmhouse filled with natural light and timeless elegance. This spacious building offers a bright bridal suite, multiple rooms for getting ready, and a large gathering hall perfect for capturing beautiful photos.
Just outside Peacock Hall, couples can exchange vows in the courtyard or on the green space overlooking Lake Angela. The handcrafted arbor provides a lovely focal point, framed by serene water views and lush greenery.
For the reception, the 150-year-old Celebration Barn offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Its hand-pegged wood beams and rustic character create a perfect canvas for weddings ranging from casual to elegant, with plenty of space for dining, dancing, and celebrating.
Haley & Kellen’s Wedding Day at The Homestead
Haley prepared for her day inside Peacock Hall, enjoying the soft natural light while getting ready with her Mother and Bridesmaids. The ceremony took place just outside in front of the hall, with Lake Angela as a stunning backdrop.
After the ceremony, portraits were taken around the estate, capturing the venue’s charming architecture and natural surroundings. They even had a swing for the couple to take pictures at! The reception inside the Celebration Barn included first dances, dinner, and cake cutting in a cozy, rustic environment. I wrapped up after the cake cutting, letting the couple enjoy the rest of their night!
Why The Homestead is Ideal for Your Wedding
Haley and Kellen stayed at the venue over the weekend, and were able to setup, enjoy their day, and tear down all in the same weekend. They were able to enjoy everything in the same location, not having to drive places at different times of the day. Parking was discreet, located behind Peacock Hall and shrouded with bushes.
This venue is perfect for couples who want a blend of natural outdoor beauty and historic indoor charm—all just minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Whether you envision an intimate lakeside ceremony or a lively reception in a rustic barn, The Homestead offers versatile spaces that make planning simple and photography effortless.
